Shift:  Night
Hours: 36–48 per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
RTO: Max 7 days (1 week)
On-call Requirement: No

Unit Details:
Join a Med-Surg/Telemetry unit caring for cardiac, pulmonary, pain, GI, infection, and unmanaged DM patients. Units are supported by PCTs who handle vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs. An in-house phlebotomy team handles all peripheral lab draws; nurses manage PICC lines and central lines. Nurses may be required to float within scope to ed boarders, stable ICU, Med-Surg, or acute brain injury units as needed.

Patient Ratios:

• Normal Ratios: Day & Evening 5:1 | Nights 6–7:1
• Stretch Ratios: Day & Evening 6–7:1 | Nights 9–10:1

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Scrubs: Any combo of navy and white
• Charting: Epic

Skills & Experience Required:

• Med-Surg / Telemetry care
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Peripheral line care/management
• Oxygen therapy: nasal cannula, face masks, portable oxygen tanks
• Non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions

Certifications Required:

• BLS

Special Equipment:

• Bladder scanners, telemetry, EKG machines, Lifepaks

Preferred Skills:

• Epic experience preferred

Additional Notes:

• Mixed-acuity unit; nurses must be flexible to float to sister units as needed
• Ratios adjusted based on patient acuity
