About the Role

A leading hospital in Utica, New York (ZIP 13502) is seeking an experienced Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. This position offers the opportunity to provide specialized care to adult patients with complex medical needs in a fast-paced IMCU environment while expanding your professional expertise.

Assignment Details

• Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
• Location: Utica, NY 13502
• Start Date: January 5, 2026 – April 5, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 06:30 – 19:00 (Day shifts; block scheduling not guaranteed)
• Hours: 36 hours per week (standard contract)
• Floating: Required within scope
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Unit Specifics

• Beds: 64 total / 15 designated Neuro beds
• Patient Demographics: Adults (18+)
• Common Diagnoses: Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, post-op
• Specialty Equipment: Temp pacer, Chest tubes, A-lines, Bipap, Neptune Vapo
• Vent Management: Chronic vents (unable to wean) with RT support

Submission Requirements

• Locals accepted: Local rate applies if within 75 miles
• Resume: Must show 2+ years of IMCU/PCU experience and documented travel experience
• References: 2 recent IMCU Charge/Manager RN references
• Skills Checklist: Matching IMCU specialty
• Driver’s License: Address must match demographics
• Certifications (current AHA):
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
• Licenses: Active NY RN license verified via NURSYS, plus all RN licenses
• RTO: Must be included at time of submission (no exceptions)
• EMR Experience: EPIC required

Minimum Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (NY required).
• 2+ years of IMCU/PCU experience in an acute care setting.
• Travel nursing experience required.
• Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to respond quickly in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Charge nurse capability highly preferred.
• Advanced certifications beyond required list.
• Adaptability to diverse patient populations and clinical environments.
