Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse (IMCU RN) – Day Shift

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our team in Utica, NY. This 13-week assignment offers the opportunity to provide high-acuity care in a 64-bed IMCU, including 15 designated neuro beds, with diverse patient populations and advanced specialty equipment.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years in IMCU/PCU; travel experience required
• Licensure: Active NY RN license (verification via NURSYS required)
• Certifications: Current AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• References: 2 recent IMCU Charge/Manager RN references
• Skills Checklist: Matching specialty required
• Other: Driver’s license with matching demographic information; RTO must be included at submission
• Locals: Accepted (local rates apply for candidates within 75 miles)
• Floating: Required; may float within scope to other units

Unit Specifics

• Common Diagnoses: Neuro, cardiac, trauma, respiratory (COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, post-op)
• Specialty Equipment: Temporary pacer, chest tubes, A-lines, Bipap, Neptune Vapo
• Ventilators: Chronic vents (unable to wean; RT to assist)
• Patient Demographics: Adults (18+)
• Beds: 64 total, including 15 designated neuro beds

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to IMCU patients with complex medical needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR.
• Integrate seamlessly into unit culture and function as core staff.
