Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – NICU (Travel Assignment)

New Brunswick, NJ 08901
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) with NICU expertise for a 13-week travel assignment. This role requires proficiency in acute care Level III NICU, with exposure to Level IV patients. First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they meet the clinical requirements.
Key Details
- Shift: Day, 3x12-hour (07:00 – 19:30)
- Start Date: January 26, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call Requirement: None
- RTO Restrictions: Requests must be submitted with application; facility allows no more than 7 days per contract
- Travel Pairs: Not accepted
- Scrub Color: Ceil Blue
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years RRT experience
- Active New Jersey RRT license (pending licenses accepted)
- Certifications Required: BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT
- Recent and proficient acute care Level III NICU experience (Level IV preferred, Level III accepted)
- Experience with oscillators, jet ventilators, and nitric oxide (ECMO not required)
- Must be able to attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections
- Travelers with additional jobs must prioritize this contract as their primary schedule
Unit Expectations
- Independent NICU respiratory care with advanced equipment
- Support neonatal patients requiring complex interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during high-risk deliveries
- Float as needed within scope to other units based on census and staffing needs
Facility Restrictions
- Facility will not accept travelers who were past employees of Saint Peter’s University Hospital
