RN – Pediatric Step-Down Unit

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatric Step-Down Unit. The RN will provide high-quality care to acutely ill pediatric patients, utilizing strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Licensure & Certifications:

• Active New York State RN License
• BLS and PALS required
• ACLS required

Experience & Clinical Competence:

• Pediatric nursing experience required
• Must demonstrate relevant clinical competence in the assigned nursing practice area
• New graduates must possess current knowledge of the nursing process and its application

• Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships and communicate clearly with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and speaking English
• Ability to accurately assess patient status using visual, auditory, cognitive, and physical skills
• Physical and mental capacity to care for acutely ill pediatric patients with diverse diagnoses and behaviors
• Ability to walk, stand, lift, stoop, push, and respond quickly in urgent situations for extended periods
• Manual dexterity to perform clinical procedures, including venipuncture, urinary catheterization, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic data entry
