Description

Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Contractor
Location: Knoxville, TN 37920
Tentative Start Date: 02/26/2026
Program: Viral Hepatitis (VH) Program – Jail Vaccination Team
Work Type: Hybrid | Contract
Travel: 40–60% (Local & Regional – East & Northeast TN)

 

Pay rate: $30 - $33/hr (Mileage reimbursement will be discussed at the time of interview)

 

Requirements:

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Tennessee or NLC compact privilege
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally (40–60%) - (Knox County, East & Northeast TN regions)
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct vaccination clinics in county jails across the region
  • Educate patients on vaccinations and viral hepatitis prevention
  • Safely store, transport, and administer vaccines per CDC guidelines
  • Accurately document patient care (electronic and paper records)
  • Track and report vaccination numbers and educational outreach
  • Participate in program and team meetings
  • Communicate with internal TDH staff and external partners
  • Maintain patient health files and legal documentation of services
