Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns (couplet care)
- Monitor maternal and newborn vital signs and overall condition
- Assess for postpartum complications (e.g., hemorrhage, infection, mood disorders)
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Assist with breastfeeding and lactation support
- Perform newborn assessments (feeding, weight, vitals, screenings)
- Educate parents on infant care, feeding, safety, and postpartum recovery
- Provide emotional support to new mothers and families
- Coordinate care with physicians, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary teams
- Prepare patients for discharge with instructions and resources
