Job Title: Registered Nurse
Unit: PCU
Location: Anchorage, AK 99508
Shift: Night - 19:00 - 07:30
Shift Length: 3*12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a minimum of 1 years of recent acute care experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized care to patients with complex medical conditions requiring close monitoring and intervention. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform rapid assessment, triage, and prioritize patient care based on acuity.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions as required.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond quickly to critical changes.
- Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate patients and families while ensuring accurate documentation of care provided.
Skills:
- Assess, monitor, and provide nursing care to patients with complex and high-acuity medical conditions in the PCU.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient status, responding promptly to changes in condition.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, discharge instructions, and ongoing care while maintaining accurate documentation.
Documents Required:
- Valid AK State RN license
- ACLS Certified through AHA
- BLS Certified through AHA
