About the Role
DT-Trak Staffing is seeking a Kansas-certified Radiologic Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging services at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Leavenworth, Kansas. This is a part-time, non-personal services contract position supporting the institution's Health Services Department. You will operate independently within a clinical setting, perform diagnostic x-ray exams, and work alongside institutional medical staff to deliver quality patient care in a secure federal facility.
Schedule & Location
• Location: FCI Leavenworth, 1300 Metropolitan Avenue, Leavenworth, KS 66048
• Schedule: 3 days per week, six 1-hour sessions per day (approximately 18 hours/week)
• Hours: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break (subject to institutional needs)
• Federal holidays excluded; hours will not normally exceed 30 per week
Pay
• $30.00 – $34.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and credentials
(Part-time contract position; no employer-sponsored benefits.)
What You'll Do
• Perform diagnostic imaging examinations by operating x-ray equipment
• Explain imaging procedures and positioning to patients
• Perform routine operational checks on radiological equipment and report deficiencies
• Follow national, organizational, and institutional radiation safety protocols
• Maintain accurate imaging records and communicate results to Health Services staff
• Coordinate scheduling and patient movement to and from the radiological clinic with custody staff
Required Qualifications
• Current Kansas state certification/license to perform radiological imaging
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Radiologic Technologist
• Verifiable credentials: education, current license status, competency, and continuing education
• Proof of current malpractice/professional liability insurance
• Must pass a drug screening and a law enforcement agency background investigation
• Free of communicable disease; must comply with TB and other health screening requirements
• Must meet DOJ contractor residency requirements (3 of the last 5 years residing in the U.S.)
• Willingness to attend a mandatory Institution Familiarization Orientation prior to start (paid at contract rate)
Work Environment
This role involves frequent, unsupervised contact with incarcerated individuals in a correctional healthcare setting. Professional clinical attire (scrubs permitted) is required, along with a facility-issued badge and daily sign-in/sign-out. Candidates must be comfortable working within Bureau of Prisons security protocols and the Health Services Manual.
