Completes final review of patient record to ensure all paperwork and activities such as site marking is complete and that anesthesiologist has spoken to the patient and family. 7) Provides appropriate and knowledgeable instruction/education to the patients and their families. 8) Decrements supplies according to policy. Utilizes supplies, equipment, and resources to contain costs without compromising patient care. 9) Assists with housekeeping duties such as cleaning and making beds as needed for patients. 10) When assigned to PACU, uses knowledge and critical thinking to assess and give appropriate nursing care. Recognizes patients' needs; maintains airway, monitors VS, utilizes correct medication to control pain, and consults with surgeon and anesthesiologist if any difficulties arise that affects the patient.
