Must have some ICU experience (1-2 ratings on checklist for a screen through). They will NOT be floating to the ICU, just often upgrade and manage this level of care in PACU. Additionally, we do send a PACU RN to the STICU to recover patients Certs: ACLS, BCLS, PALS. PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: Charge Nurse Experience, Conscious Sedation, FHM, ICP, Telemetry, Vents, ICU background exp prior to PACU and Pediatric Experience. PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Vascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery and Orthopedics Gynocology and Urology General and Bariatric Plastics and ENT Opthamoogy Children - T&amp;A, Ears, Hernias, Cleft Lip/Palate Phase II - when that unit is full SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Phase 1 Recovery Unit that provides observation and care of the patients who have undergone surgical procedures requiring anesthesia. We receive patients directly from the OR, EP Lab, Endo, IR, MRI and patients that are ICU who need to be recovered before being admitted to the units. SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Cardiac Monitor - Blood pressure, heart rate, respirations, O2 saturation, arterial lines, ICP monitoring, dopplers for vascular checks, fetal heart monitor, EKOS, SCD pumps, wound vacs UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): Pyxis, EPIC, Perfect Serve

50-mile radius rule  Shift: Mon-Fri 8a-4:30p Required: <ul><li>GED or HS diploma. </li><li>Certified as COA, COT, and COMT by JCAHPO. </li><li>Min 1 year of experience. </li><li>Preferred: Vocational or technical training in an accredited program. </li></ul> Job Description: Escorts patients to and from exam rooms. Takes a complete history focusing on the patient's eye symptoms. Reviews allergies and medications. Performs visual acuity tests and uses tonopen and applanation to measure intraocular pressure. Administers eye drops in preparation for the eye exam, performs visual fields, A/B ultrasonic scans, autorefraction, OCT, fundus photography, lensometry, and topography. Performs refractions. Monitors provider schedules and patient flow. and coordinates information necessary for patient records., Monitors supply rooms and keeps exam rooms stocked and supplied. Cleans and maintains equipment and coordinates repairs as needed. Trains on the job for new tasks and ancillary skills as needed. Participates in employer-sponsored training and continuing education.  Summary: Fulfills numerous functions to prepare patients for evaluation by an Ophthalmologist and/or Optometrist, including acquiring health histories from patients, performing preliminary eye function testing, administering eye drops, managing patient flow, and maintaining equipment. Performs refractions.
