Overview of AdventHealth Orlando

Founded in 1908 as Florida Hospital Orlando, the healthcare facility officially changed its name to AdventHealth Orlando in January 2019. It’s one of the top Orlando hospitals and part of AdventHealth’s (FKA Adventist Health System) Central Florida Division. The Orlando facility is the division’s flagship campus and the largest hospital owned by AdventHealth, with over 2,900 beds per the American Hospital Directory.

AdventHealth Orlando is part of a system of eight hospitals in the Central Florida area operating under one license. The other hospitals within this group include AH Altamonte, AH Apopka, AH Celebration Health, AH East Orlando, AH Kissimmee, Florida Children’s Hospital and Winter Park Memorial. Getting to Work

AdventHealth Orlando staff who prefer taking public transportation instead of driving to work can catch a ride with Lynx Bus, Orlando’s regional public transportation system. It operates several bus routes that serve the vicinity of the hospital. Employees further away from the hospital can take SunRail, the metro area’s commuter rail system, to a nearby Lynx Bus route.

Employees who choose to drive have three parking garages available 24/7 that are free to use, including King Street Parking Garage next to the medical plaza, Alden Street Parking Garage across the street from the main entrance of the hospital and McRae Ave Parking Garage on Rollins Street across from the North entrance to the medical plaza. All three garages require taking an elevator to the third floor to access the medical office building and the crosswalk to the main hospital.

On-Campus and Nearby Amenities

Employees have several on-campus dining options for lunch breaks. Welch Cafeteria offers an assortment of breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees, plus soups, sandwiches, salads, snacks and desserts. Lakeside Café specializes in vegetarian fare and features an outdoor patio for relaxing dining with a view of Lake Estelle. King Street Café offers sandwiches, pastries and fresh-brewed coffee. The hospital also has vending machines on the second floor for quick snacks on the go.
