Discover all the possibilities of a career at Northside today. The Medical Intensive Care Unit provides exceptional care for critically ill adult patients. Patients may require frequent critical care assessments, invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive drug therapy, continuous renal replacement therapy, and rapid sequence intubation. The major diagnoses cared for in the Medical Intensive Care Unit include, but are not limited to, respiratory failure requiring ventilator support, severe sepsis/septic shock, anaphylaxis, gastrointestinal bleeding, renal/liver failure, accidental/intentional overdose, behavioral health, and DKA/HHS on insulin infusion. As a nurse on this unit, you would manage patient care for your assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the appropriate division. REQUIRED: * Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. * Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training. * Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). a. Other REQUIRED cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications (ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.) are unit specific. Please refer to the specific clinical unit. * Please refer to the specific clinical unit for additional education, competencies and/or certification required as a condition of employment. * Must meet all Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) personnel qualifications and responsibilities requirements for individuals directing or performing non-waived point of care testing as stated in 42 CFR, Part 493, Subpart M. PREFERRED: * BSN degree preferred * National Certification in Clinical Specialty preferred
