Tele-Critical Care Nurse I
Job Summary:
Leverages relevant technology for video monitoring and assesses patient data, anticipating and escalating issues requiring immediate attention, drives consultations with Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurses (RNs), physicians, and other members of the health care team (e.g., pharmacy, respiratory therapy), influencing patient care decisions, and applies knowledge to provide real time, clinical decision guidance for Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients. Leads communications (e.g., verbally and written) with other health care professionals to plan and implement interventions, troubleshooting and ensuring patient needs are addressed, guides others to prioritize and/or triage patient calls for physicians, adjusting physician workloads when necessary, and serves as a key resource for education, assessment, and treatment of critical care patients and their families, ensuring seamless care delivery. Proactively gathers and inputs accurate, clear documentation, ensuring all necessary patient data is included, analyzes patient data to assist with assessments, escalations, and monitoring, and drives organizational initiatives to improve quality of care. Leads the coordination and monitoring of the performance of patient care tasks in accordance with relevant policies and procedures, taking action to share relevant information and/or facility updates with team members.

- Ensures compliant patient care practices by: leading the coordination and monitoring of the performance of patient care tasks in accordance with relevant policies and procedures, taking action to share relevant information and/or facility updates with team members.
- Drives care improvement efforts by: proactively gathering and inputting accurate, clear documentation, ensuring all necessary patient data is included; analyzing complex patient data to assist with assessments, escalations, and monitoring; and driving organizational initiatives to improve quality of care.
- Leads virtual care services by: leveraging relevant technology for video monitoring and assessing complex patient data, anticipating and escalating issues requiring immediate attention; driving consultations with Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurses (RNs), physicians, and other members of the health care team (e.g., pharmacy, respiratory therapy), influencing patient care decisions; and applying highly advanced knowledge to provide real time, clinical decision guidance for Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field AND minimum five (5) years of experience in intensive care units (ICUs) or a directly related field OR Minimum eight (8) years of experience in intensive care units (ICUs) or a directly related field.
- Critical Care Registered Nurse Certificate within 12 months of hire
Pay
Average California Staff Position Pay
$51.05/hour
The average salary for a ICU - Intensive Care Unit is 2% higher than the US average of $50.
