Full-Time Nights 7pm-7am The birth of a child is one of life's most precious moments. With just under 300 babies born at University Medical Center every month, the Family Birth Center (Labor and Delivery) has been a part of this experience for thousands of families in the Lubbock area for more than 30 years. The Family Birth Center's labor and delivery suites offer patients the comfort and advantage of remaining in one room for labor, delivery and recovery. The Family Birth Center consists of 17 LDR suites, 6 Triage Bays, 3 Operating Rooms, and a 4 bed PACU. Nurses gain knowledge and expertise in antepartum care of high-risk obstetrical patients, intrapartum care/labor support, electronic fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, breastfeeding management/support, newborn assessment/care, and OR/PACU nursing. Nurses in the Family Birth Center adhere to the highest evidence-based quality standards in a family-centered environment. Registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care. Qualifications: * Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing * Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License * Must maintain a current BLS & ACLS certification from American Heart Association * Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from American Academy of Pediatrics required or must be obtained upon hire * Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring training required or must be obtained upon hire and renewed every two years * Inpatient Obstetrics and/or Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification preferred * BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire * Experienced RN UMC Health System provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws. * Request for accommodations in the hire process should be directed to UMC Human Resources.*
