Job Description ECU Health About ECU Health North Hospital ECU Health North Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited, 204-bed acute bed facility serving Halifax, Northampton and Warren counties in the north-central region of North Carolina. Its service area also reaches into southern Virginia. With more than 600 team members, the hospital offers a broad range of medical and surgical services. It features a 24-hour emergency department and offers advanced diagnostics as well as specialty and primary care. We are hiring experienced nurses for ED travel assignments at ECU Health North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The base pay for these assignments is $70.00/hour. Roanoke Rapids is a cozy community of 15,000 that offers easy access to the beautiful waterways of North Carolina and Virginia, like the Roanoke River and Lake Gaston. * Duration: 13 Weeks * Base Pay: up to $70 per hour for all travel nursing positions * Additional compensation: 1.5x base hourly rate for overtime (over 40 hours), call back and holiday pay, $3.00 per hour for stand-by pay, and $2.00 per hour for charge/preceptor pay. Position Summary Responsible to provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice. Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members. Identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family. Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team. Collaborates with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care. Delegates tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act. Minimum Requirements * Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher * Bachelor Degree is preferred * 1+ year of nursing experience is required * American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification is required * Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required: (i.e. supervision, computers, etc.) * Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four (24) hour needs of the patients * Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills * Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication in patient, interdisciplinary, and staff relationships * Maintains stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands * Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications Other Information * 5+ years of experience is preferred for ED North * 13 week assignments with option to extend at the discretion of manager * Travel Team members are expected to: * Float to other areas as needed * Rotate shifts to meet department needs as determined by the manager (may include 11am-11pm, 7am-7pm, 3pm-3am, 7pm-7am and/or other shifts as determined by organizational needs) * Adher to required attendance of unit staff meetings, completion of e-inform modules, and completion of required organizational continuing education * Use the scheduling system to manage their schedule, including non-duty/time-off request * Organizational policies will be applicable to internal travel team memebers, not withstanding Internal Travel Staffing Program specifications included within each assignment acknowledgement * Travel Staffing positions are not eligible for health benefits, shifts or weekend differentials, incentive pay, PTO or float pool differentials * Not currently employed by ECU Health and seperated for 92 days, having left in good standing ECU Health at a Glance ECU Health is a mission-driven, 1,708 bed academic health care enterprise serving more that 1.4 million people in 29 eastern North Carolina counties.
