Emergency Room Nursing Services Manager


POSITION SUMMARY: Provides management support and coordinates unit operations with 24-hour accountability. Oversees and manages Emergency and Trauma departments# staff ensuring the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care with the Health Care System. Establishes unit goals and objectives which support the Hospital#s goals, values and mission. Provides leadership for the Trauma Program by supporting the Trauma Coordinator in building relationships within the trauma team. Will serve as a liaison between the trauma team clinical leadership as well as assess the need for support of the Trauma Coordinator at local, region, and statewide trauma committee meetings. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives. EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor#s Degree in Nursing required. Master#s Degree in Nursing or Health Care Administration preferred. Experience in nursing leadership required. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current RN licensure in the State of Illinois. CPR Certification Required. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Demonstrated leadership and management skills. Excellent communication, organization and critical-decision making skills required. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels with in the organization and community.
