Job Description ECU Health About ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie. Serving four nearby counties, the 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology. In addition, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers. Position Summary Responsible to provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice. Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members. Identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family. Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team. Collaborates with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care. Delegates tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act. Minimum Requirements Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher Current NC RN license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state Health Care Provider is required. Basic Life Support is required. Other Information This is a part-time position, 20-24 hours per week. Including all shifts Bed count --10 Primary Population: The population consists of adult patients that meet ICU criteria with the following subspecialties: *

  • List Subspecialties of unit: Medical, Surgical patients * Surgical patients include general and orthopedic surgery Registered nurses provide care in conjunction with the care partner and medical team. Assignments are based on the patient's needs, the geographical location of the patients, and the resources available. The charge nurse does have a patient assignment. BLS is required upon hire, and ACLS acquired within 6 months of ICU start date Skills that will be utilized are: ACLS, ventilator management, drip titrations, insulin drips, critical thinking General Statement It is the goal of ECU Health and its entities to employ the most qualified individual who best matches the requirements for the vacant position.
