<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Oct 5, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift community hospital position requiring 3 years of ER experience and both Kansas and Missouri (or compact) licensure.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>8-bed Emergency Department in a single-floor community hospital shared with a med-surg/intermediate unit</li><li>Average daily census of 60 patients</li><li>Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)</li><li>13-week assignment length</li><li>Weekend shifts required, though frequency varies based on staffing needs</li><li>Floating required to all community hospital ER units and potentially between departments and facilities</li><li>No on-call requirements</li><li>Unit staffed with 1:1 ED RN ratio, 1-2 providers, 1 MSI RN, 1 charge nurse, 1-2 paramedics, radiology tech, and patient access reps</li><li>Uses EPIC charting system</li><li>Treats wide-ranging ER cases including ACS, CVA/TIA, respiratory conditions, sepsis, trauma, behavioral health emergencies, and common acute illnesses</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active RN license (Kansas and Missouri, or compact) required in hand at time of consideration</li><li>Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS</li><li>TNCC certification preferred</li><li>Minimum 3 years of ER RN experience required</li><li>2 years of recent specialty experience required, with no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year</li><li>Previous travel nursing experience required</li><li>Epic charting experience preferred</li><li>Community and teaching hospital experience preferred</li><li>Trauma Level I and II experience preferred</li><li>Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, and administering emergency medications</li><li>Experience with pediatric and adult ER patient populations</li><li>SSN required for consideration</li><li>Two professional references required: one supervisor-level or above, and one charge RN, both from the past year</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide emergency care across a broad range of medical, surgical, psychiatric, and trauma presentations</li><li>Work collaboratively within a lean ER team including providers, paramedics, and charge nurses</li><li>Staff take working lunches due to unit demands</li><li>Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position</li><li>No local candidates accepted</li><li>Maximum RTO of 7 days, which must be finalized at time of submission</li><li>No new RTO requests permitted after submission or post-offer</li><li>First-time travelers not accepted for this position</li><li>Previous BJC/Saint Luke's employees must observe an 18-month tenure policy with a required 3-month break in service</li><li>Permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's facilities must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler</li><li>Travel partners not accepted</li><li>Compliance documents due 2 Fridays before start date, with required EMR and equipment training modules completed prior to start</li></ul>
