<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Nov 23, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 3 years of ER experience and both KS/MO or compact RN licensure.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Community hospital Emergency Department with an 8-bed unit</li><li>Average daily census of 60 patients</li><li>Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)</li><li>Weekend shifts required, varying based on staffing needs</li><li>No on-call requirements</li><li>Floating required to all community hospital ED units and may occur between departments, units, and facilities as needed</li><li>Uses EPIC EMR system</li><li>Staffing model includes 1:1 ED RNs, 1-2 providers, 1 MSI RN, 1 charge nurse, 1-2 paramedics, radiology tech, and patient access reps</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active RN license (Kansas and Missouri, or compact) required in hand at time of consideration</li><li>Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (TNCC preferred)</li><li>Minimum 3 years of ER experience required</li><li>2 years of recent specialty experience with no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year</li><li>Required skills: obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, starting and maintaining IVs, and administering emergency medications</li><li>Experience with a wide range of ED presentations including ACS, CVA/TIA, respiratory conditions, sepsis, trauma, abdominal pain, behavioral health emergencies, and neurological complaints</li><li>Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred</li><li>Epic charting experience preferred</li><li>SSN required at time of consideration</li><li>Two professional references required, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide emergency care across a broad range of medical, surgical, trauma, and behavioral health cases</li><li>Manage patients presenting with any condition or complaint at any time</li><li>Participate in a working-lunch environment due to high patient volume</li><li>Hospital is single-floor, split between ED and med-surg/intermediate care unit</li><li>Maximum RTO of 7 days, finalized at time of submission with no changes allowed post-offer</li><li>Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel assignment</li><li>First-time travelers are not accepted for this role</li><li>Previous permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler</li><li>Travelers with less than 18 months tenure must have a 3-month break in service before returning</li></ul>
