I worked in Labor and delivery for 14 months at Alaska Regional. I had to leave due to my husbands declining health . I loved my job at Alaska Regional. It was one of the best jobs I have had in my nursing career. My coworkers were awesome and you felt like part of the team . It’s an experience I will never forget .

Medical staffing 6:1 step down staffing 4 or 5:1. Bad CNA ratios. Staff friendly and helpful but administration progressively making cuts, increasing ratios, and very frequently did not have phlebotomy or transport adequately staffed. I worked float pool for a year to step down unit was the worst and the emergency department nurses were always busy and miserable. Dialysis and wound care seems to like their jobs well enough

Cardiac Cath Lab

Turning into a very classic HCA. Low staff, ED holds and trash ratios. Core staff are dropping like flies.
