<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Days, 4x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 48 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Apr 20, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 2</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, ventilator competency, and a fixed weekend day shift schedule.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting</li><li>Patient population includes respiratory distress, cardiovascular disorders, substance abuse, and post-surgical patients requiring closer monitoring</li><li>Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4</li><li>Specialized procedures include telemetry monitoring, occasional arterial lines (A-lines), BiPAP, and ventilator management</li><li>Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) on a fixed weekend schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), with the opportunity to extend to a 4-day schedule (Friday through Monday)</li><li>Charting and medication administration via Meditech and Omnicell</li><li>Floating is required; may work as a monitor tech if census is low or float to another area within competency — this is reported to be very rare</li><li>Blocked scheduling with potential changes based on unit needs</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active RN license in NC or a compact state currently in hand</li><li>Current BLS and ACLS certifications required</li><li>Minimum 2 years of RN experience required</li><li>Telemetry experience required</li><li>Ventilator experience required</li><li>Must pass an EKG competency test prior to start</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Charge nurse experience is preferred</li><li>Unit orientation is 24 hours</li><li>Navy blue scrubs required</li><li>Local candidates are accepted</li><li>First-time travelers are welcome to apply</li><li>13-week contract minimum; candidates open to a longer assignment are encouraged to indicate their interest</li></ul>
