<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 48 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Aug 24, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down unit night shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of relevant RN experience and strong cardiac telemetry skills.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Hospital step-down / PCU setting with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio (1 RN and 1 CNA/Monitor Tech per 4 beds)</li><li>Patient population includes A-Fib RVR, hyperglycemia, hypertension requiring drips, and heparin drip management</li><li>Night shift: 18:45–07:15, alternating 36-hour weeks and 48-hour weeks on a Friday–Sunday schedule</li><li>Every other weekend required</li><li>Float requirement to ED IVC Sitter</li><li>No on-call requirement</li><li>13-week contract minimum; longer contracts may be considered</li><li>EMR/unit systems: MediTech (documentation), Omnicell (medications)</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active NC or Compact RN license required (may be pending at time of consideration)</li><li>Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (may be pending at time of consideration)</li><li>Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required</li><li>Strong cardiac telemetry skills required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, on-unit and remote telemetry monitoring</li><li>Experience with vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, heparin protocols, and IV insulin protocols</li><li>Proficiency with IV therapy including arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, port access, and peripheral line care</li><li>Respiratory management skills required: BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), and non-invasive airway management</li><li>Experience with continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac, and blood product administration</li><li>Neurological experience required: CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal</li><li>Orthopedic experience required: total joint replacement</li><li>Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years are highly preferred (pending references are accepted at time of consideration but must be on file prior to start)</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>First-time travelers are welcome to apply</li><li>Orientation consists of 24 hours of unit orientation; hospital orientation occurs during week one and requires attendance at classes each day</li><li>Pre-start online modules are required (approximately 8–10 hours for acute care roles) and must also be completed annually</li><li>Navy scrubs required</li><li>Candidates must be available for a manager interview prior to any offer being extended</li><li>Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays</li><li>Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved provided it does not fall on a holiday; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment, and no additional RTO can be requested after signing</li><li>Candidates who previously worked at this health system (or affiliated facilities) as permanent, PRN, or EP staff must wait 12 months before being eligible; prior employment must be disclosed including facility name and dates</li><li>Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted but at a different rate</li><li>Travel pairs are permitted but must be assigned to different units and must have independent transportation</li></ul>
