      <p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care (Stepdown) Unit night shift position requiring an IL RN license and strong telemetry skills.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Work in a 24-bed Acute Stepdown Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a trauma level 2 facility</li><li>Primary patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high flow O2 needs, and behavioral patients needing IV drip medications</li><li>Patient ratio is 1:3 or 1:4 depending on acuity</li><li>Administers complex medication drips such as dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine</li><li>High patient throughput as expected in stepdown environments</li><li>Uses Allscripts Sunrise EMR</li><li>12-hour night shifts with potential to work every other weekend</li><li>Work closely with an on-unit educator for ongoing support</li><li>Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity setting</li><li>Standard hospital dress code applies</li></ul>

            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital</li><li>48-bed inpatient surgical unit located on the 3rd floor, spanning two buildings</li><li>Night shifts, 12 hours, with every other weekend required</li><li>Care for a broad patient population including neuro, orthopedic, general surgical, and chronic care patients</li><li>Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-6 on nights, with LPN and virtual nurse support</li><li>Primary care nursing model frequently used</li><li>Utilizes Allscripts Sunrise EMR; experience preferred</li><li>Tele monitor techs monitor Draeger systems; RNs must interpret their own strips</li><li>CPAP, Airvo, and occasional Bipap in use on the unit</li><li>Floating required to like units only, with no patient load when floated to higher acuity units</li><li>Typical patient diagnoses include laminectomies, joint replacements, ostomies, sepsis, chronic pain, and urgent OR cases</li><li>Unit is fast-paced and handles frequent surgical admissions and discharges</li><li>Holiday coverage is included in the core staff rotation</li><li>Scrub color requirement is black</li><li>Unit orientation consists of one 12-hour shift and 12-14 hours of onboarding on the first day</li><li>Accepts local candidates</li><li>First time travelers are welcome</li></ul>
          
      <h2>Requirements</h2>
      <ul><li>Current IL RN license required</li><li>Minimum two years of Med/Surg experience</li><li>At least one year of direct surgical experience, including total joint cases</li><li>Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications required</li><li>Ability to manage PCA pumps, reversal drugs such as Narcan, sepsis protocols, TPN/Lipids, and narcotic medication use</li><li>Experience titrating Heparin and other protocol-driven drips</li><li>Comfortable with Med/Surg Tele charge and team support structure</li></ul>
