Being a small hospital, management is stuck in a 20-year old timeframe. There is no OB dept and sometimes an OB nurse is staffed but not always, yet we frequently get pregnancy-related patients and often times end up delivering in the ED without the much needed help from an OB department. OB doctor is on call but doesn’t always end up making it in time when patients come in active labor
