This was a nice small hospital that catered to patients as if it were a 4-star hotel, thus earning the nickname The Chilton Hilton. The staff was nice and friendly. Unfortunately, as a traveler, we would always be the first to float to other units that were inadequately staffed. The majority of the time nurse to patient ratio was unsafe due to insufficient staffing and high acuity levels of patients. Just like every other hospital, their profit was more important than patient safety. Nurses’ licenses were in jeopardy because of the unsafe working condition from lack of help. 
One of the nice perks there was the free employee fitness center.

The work is not hard.  The volume is not a lot in my opinion. 2 CT scanners back to back with a third in the works. The staff is difficult. They’ve had a very hard time hiring and keeping new hires. 

I did not have a great experience in how I was treated.

      <p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring a NJ or compact RN license, two years of critical care experience, and strong on-call availability.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Work in a hospital-based Cardiac Catheterization Lab</li><li>Schedules consist of Monday through Friday, either 7am-5pm or 8am-6pm with four 10-hour shifts</li><li>No routine weekend shifts required</li><li>On-call required for 10-12 shifts per month, including one weekend per month</li><li>Candidates must be within 30 minutes of the facility for on-call response</li><li>Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital</li><li>Uses Epic charting system</li><li>Provide direct patient care for cardiac catheterization procedures across a range of patient populations</li><li>Perform comprehensive and systematic patient assessments and deliver individualized nursing care</li><li>Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation</li><li>Participate in pre-operative and postoperative patient education</li><li>Demonstrate competent use of emergency equipment and protocols</li><li>Follow national safety goals and facility protocols, including patient identification and safe transfer techniques</li><li>Assignment may be up to one year with a required break before reassignment</li><li>Professional, courteous, and patient-centered communication is expected</li></ul>

            <ul><li>Work in a hospital Intermediate Care/Telemetry Unit caring for adult and geriatric patients</li><li>Night shift schedule, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., three 12-hour shifts per week</li><li>Patient population includes cardiac and telemetry cases</li><li>Basic dysrhythmia monitoring required</li><li>EPIC EMR system is used on this unit</li><li>Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital</li><li>Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients</li><li>Apply and interpret telemetry leads, and manage high-risk intravenous cardiac medications</li><li>Document patient care, interventions, and teaching in accordance with hospital policies</li><li>Initiate and coordinate patient and family education, including discharge planning</li><li>Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team and participate in patient care conferences</li><li>Follow proper documentation and order transcriptions, including compliance with regulatory requirements</li><li>Scrubs or professional attire must follow hospital guidelines</li><li>Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted</li><li>Assignments are limited to a maximum of one calendar year; a 30-60 day break is required before returning</li></ul>
