2 nurses recommend working here
Pros
Incredible team! I was here for 2 years off and on. The hospital serves their community with dignity. Got to use butterflys on every patient. Beware this is a role with a lot of phlebotomy. You are the only phleb in the building and the nurses dont often pull off IVs. All morning draws are on you. Some nights I had zero patients and some nights I had 10. Maintenance is light because of how small the lab is.
Cons
Housing is sparse. Hospital dorms are $30/night and are ok short term but there is zero respect for sleeping night shift—they allow community groups to have Zumba class etc outside your room. But the hospital has good housing resources and the lab manager is very helpful too.
