<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Jul 27, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 2</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Med Surg position requiring at least 3 years of experience, stepdown skills, and drip titration ability for a 13-week night shift contract in West Virginia.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Acute care hospital setting on a 20-bed Stepdown/Med Surg unit</li><li>Common patient diagnoses include respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain</li><li>Stepdown nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3; floor ratio is 1:5-6</li><li>Two nurse aides are available per shift</li><li>Telemetry is present on the unit and monitored remotely at Ruby</li><li>RNs are required to titrate drips, including Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone</li><li>RT equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen is available on the unit</li><li>Charting is done in Epic</li><li>12-hour night shifts</li><li>Three weekend shifts required per 4-week scheduling period</li><li>Rotating holiday coverage required (evening or day)</li><li>No on-call or standby requirement</li><li>No floating required</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active WV or compact RN license required</li><li>Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required</li><li>Minimum 3 years of RN experience required</li><li>Stepdown experience required</li><li>Driver's license copy required for consideration</li><li>Two references required: one supervisor reference and one peer or additional supervisor reference</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Royal blue scrubs required</li><li>Unit-specific orientation is provided</li><li>Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this position</li><li>Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being eligible to apply</li><li>Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one year cumulatively before taking a 2-year break</li></ul>
