Understaffed. Physicians are pretty easy to work for. Be prepared to assist anesthesia and set up all lines & drips for each case.

They make schedules 2 weeks at a time, which is ridiculous. They try and force you to work OT on night shift (not my regular shift). Constantly putting you in rooms that you don’t normally circulate. They have their favorites and it’s always those people who are never in rooms. Some of the  coordinators and team leads don’t even know how to scrub/circulate the teams they are in charge of. No one knows who to call for supplies, the instrument room acts like they don’t know what you’re talking about half the time. Nothing is anywhere that it makes sense. Their lunch staff usually have 2 lunches each and then sit around for 2 hours doing nothing until it’s time to take their lunches and then they’re never assigned to rooms after that either

Me: where’s the syringe?
Nurse: I already tossed the rest in the sink
Me: I’m not wasting something I can’t see you waste
Nurse: God, all you f*cking travelers are the same
Me: didn’t you have two managers in the star program for narcotics diversion?
Nurse: go f*ck yourself.
