Grandview is a beautiful hospital . But staffing is always a nightmare. 2/3 shifts our medsurg nurses are a 1:7 patient ratio which always a nightmare given at times when have some very critical patients.

There are many new graduate nurses it’s been scary numerous occasions for patient safety and lack of knowledge during codes. One of the charge nurses had 1.5 years experience as a staff nurse. The turnover rate here is insane. Every-time you came into work there was a new nurse and one of the old nurses quit. On the other hand, some of the staff are very nice and fun to be around.

Beautiful hospital, but just like any other, it’ll take and take from you and give nothing but negative feedback. They’ll let good/hard working people walk out the door because they’ll just find someone new and pay them less. I’m sure you’re familiar with how this goes if you’ve been in the medical field for a while.
