This is a moderately nice facility; however, patient ratios for med surg are very high. The culture is… okay. Depends on who you work with but management isn’t interested in helping the floor when you’re drowning and incident reports are treated as punitive.

Terrible Management

This is probably the worst contract I've had in 2 years of traveling. The call is bad, the way they schedule is chaotic without much rhyme or reason. Some docs are downright mean and condescending (although the worst one is leaving). Travelers are used, scrubbing every case while the permanent stuff does "administrative" stuff. Mostly nice staff but there's a lot of talking behind people's backs and infighting. There are better ways to see Hawai, just don't come to HMC.

Horrible awful place to work.They treat travelers like trash. I was given on average 6-9 patients per shift - totally unsafe! I left my assignment early.
