<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 48 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Aug 11, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital in Indiana, requiring an active IN or Compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Works in an adult and geriatric Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care hospital</li><li>Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients with conditions such as COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CVA, hypoxia, electrolyte imbalances, hypertension, small bowel obstruction, altered mental status, and renal failure</li><li>Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6</li><li>Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (17:00–05:30)</li><li>Every other weekend required</li><li>Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)</li><li>Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active IN or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration — pending licenses are not accepted</li><li>Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA and RQI formats accepted)</li><li>Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele RN experience required</li><li>Cerner EMR experience required</li><li>RN degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation</li><li>2 supervisor references required</li><li>SSN and DOB required for consideration</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>First-time travelers are welcome to apply</li><li>Indiana residents are considered local and are not eligible for this position</li><li>Previous charge nurse experience is preferred</li><li>Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract</li><li>Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved</li><li>Scrub colors required: red top and black pants</li><li>Free parking is available on-site</li><li>Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler</li><li>Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility — out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break</li></ul>
