I worked as a staff nurse in the ED from 2021 to 2022. Great teamwork with other nurses and the providers. Travelers at the time said it was a great place to be.

The nurse to patient ratio is not the problem for a MS floor. It's the acuity level and the tool they use to divide up the patients. It is terrible! You get bed jumpers and confused patients spread from one end of the unit to the other and you're running chasing bed alarms all night. The techs may end up leaving mid shift or a nurse gets pulled ALL of the time leaving you doing all the nurse and PCT work. The team is cool but the dynamics of how the unit is run is terribly unsafe and works you to the bone. Will not extend will not return
