<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Sep 21, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 2</li></ul><h3>Description</h3>American Traveler is hiring a Labor &amp; Delivery RN with a KS or compact license and at least 2 years of L&amp;D experience for a night shift contract requiring float coverage to Med/Surg and ER.<h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital, with floating to Med/Surg and ER departments</li><li>Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 6p-6a, with every other weekend required</li><li>When floating with no L&amp;D patients, assists with Skilled Swing Bed, medical, or ER patients as a helper or assigned caregiver</li><li>Med/Surg patients are typically Skilled Swing Bed or stable Observation/Acute cases needing IV antibiotics, fluids, or strengthening care</li><li>ER assignments typically involve low-acuity cases such as ear infections, minor coughs, UTIs, IV fluids, or minor lacerations</li><li>Assists as a helping hand during trauma or critical ER cases by recording events, starting IVs, taking vitals, or gathering supplies</li><li>Five-bed ER including two trauma bays, two treatment rooms, and one triage/outpatient room</li><li>Each shift staffed with four nurses (two OB/ER/Med-Surg skillset, two ER/Med-Surg skillset), with one designated as charge nurse</li><li>All departments share a central nurses station for charting and collaboration</li><li>Block scheduling is available</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active KS or compact RN license required at time of consideration</li><li>BLS, FHM, and NRP certifications required</li><li>Minimum 2 years of Labor &amp; Delivery experience required</li><li>Charge nurse experience preferred</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide direct patient care in Labor &amp; Delivery and support Med/Surg and ER units as needed</li><li>Charge nurse role includes assisting staff, making patient assignments, and other leadership duties</li><li>Orientation includes education specific to Med/Surg and ER areas</li><li>All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration</li><li>Local candidates accepted</li><li>First-time travelers are not accepted for this position</li></ul>
