<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Oct 12, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3>American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring critical care skills and an active IL RN license.<h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Work in a High Acuity/ICU unit within an acute care hospital setting</li><li>8-bed critical care unit with 1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratios</li><li>Patient population includes respiratory failure, post-surgical, wound care, IV antibiotics, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac cases</li><li>Care for sedated, ventilated patients including tracheostomy and PEG tube management</li><li>Manage CVC, PICC, and midline lines with associated care</li><li>Titrate common ICU drips such as Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, and Cardizem</li><li>Utilizes EPIC EMR</li><li>12-hour night shifts from 7pm to 7:30am</li><li>Every other weekend required, plus additional shifts to fill gaps</li><li>Holiday rotation required, plus additional shifts to fill gaps</li><li>No current call or standby requirement, though subject to change</li><li>May float to Medical-Surgical unit</li><li>RT staff available in-house 24/7 to support ventilator, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipment</li><li>House Supervisor available 24/7</li><li>Telemetry centrally monitored by dedicated telemetry tech</li><li>Hospitalist/Intensivist on-site during dayshift, with tele-health MD support after hours</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active IL RN license required</li><li>BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required</li><li>Minimum 1 year of experience required</li><li>EPIC EMR experience preferred</li><li>Skilled in vasopressor, sedation, and pain control drip titration</li><li>Experience with ventilated and tracheostomy patients required</li><li>Experience with CVC, PICC, midline, and PEG tube care required</li><li>Must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide primary bedside care as no nurse aides or patient care techs are present on this unit</li><li>Complete classroom orientation per facility policy plus 2 shifts with a preceptor</li><li>Scrubs required in any color, with only facility-approved t-shirts permitted</li><li>Local candidates accepted, with a reduced rate applying to those within 50 miles of the facility</li><li>First-time travelers may be considered for this position</li></ul>
