 American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric ICU RN with vent, trach, and G tube experience and a valid IL RN license for a unique inpatient pediatric unit.
 
 <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
 <ul><li>Work in a single inpatient pediatric unit with 39 beds that covers all specialties</li><li>Patient population ages range from 2 weeks to 18 years, with 50-60% technology dependent</li><li>Patient ratios are typically 1:3-4</li><li>Required to work every other weekend</li><li>Night shift position with typical hours of 19:00 to 07:00 (3x12 hour shifts)</li><li>Floating within scope to meet unit needs is required</li><li>Meditech is used for charting and experience is required</li><li>Unit cares for children with chronic illness, many with tracheostomies and chronic ventilators</li><li>No drips or surgical or transitional patients are seen on this unit</li><li>Acute care work environment with all pediatric specialties represented</li><li>First-time travelers will not be considered for this position</li><li>Scrub attire can be any color, must be neat and clean; pediatric-themed scrubs are encouraged</li><li>Free parking available on-site, but lots are shared with the public</li><li>Requested time off (RTO) must be approved and included in the contract before the start date; changes are not allowed after the contract begins</li><li>Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers</li></ul>
 
 <h2>Requirements</h2>
 <ul><li>Active IL RN license in hand at the time of consideration (Compact RN licenses not accepted in IL)</li><li>Current BCLS and PALS certifications</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required</li><li>Prior PICU experience preferred</li><li>Experience with vents, trachs, and G tubes is required</li><li>Experience with 1:4 patient ratios required</li><li>Meditech charting experience is required</li><li>Flu vaccine required; medical and religious exemptions accepted</li></ul>
