<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Oct 11, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit position requiring 2 years of experience and a TN or compact RN license.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Medical Surgical unit setting with MS/Tele and telemetry patients</li><li>1:6-7 patient ratios</li><li>Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:30-7:00) on a 36/36 schedule</li><li>Floating required</li><li>No call requirements</li><li>Epic charting system preferred</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active TN or compact RN license required</li><li>Minimum 2 years of RN experience required</li><li>AHA BLS certification required (ACLS preferred); AHA certification is the only accepted form</li><li>Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management preferred</li><li>Experience with rapid response/code teams preferred</li><li>Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line care</li><li>Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and tracheostomy management preferred</li><li>Wound care/wound vac and isolation precaution/PPE knowledge</li><li>Surgical drain and total joint replacement experience preferred</li><li>Relias EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing, with a maximum of two attempts</li><li>Drug test must be completed 12-14 calendar days prior to start</li><li>Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response</li><li>Support nursing student clinical education alongside standard patient care duties</li><li>General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBLs and non-billable modules (4-5 hours average)</li><li>Facility may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes</li><li>Must reside 100+ miles from the facility's service area; local candidates not accepted</li><li>First-time travelers are not preferred for this role</li><li>Only one submission allowed per candidate within the health system</li></ul>
