Overall, this is a great place to work. The staff is one of the strongest parts of the job. The team is supportive, works well together, and genuinely cares about both the patients and each other. The lower-level management has been excellent in my experience. They stay involved, understand what is happening on the floor, and are always willing to step in and help when needed. No job seems beneath them, which earns a lot of respect. Another positive is the impact of the work itself. There is a real opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives. I also hear often from patients who have been to other facilities that this is the best in the region, which says a lot about the quality of care being provided.

Like any hospital setting, the job can be demanding. It becomes especially challenging when the unit is short staffed or when patient behaviors increase, which can add stress to the day. There are also the typical workplace issues that come with larger organizations. There can be politics, and at times upper management feels out of touch with what staff on the floor are dealing with on a daily basis. These challenges do not take away from the overall experience, but they are part of the reality of working here.
