Such a friendly group of staff, so welcoming! I couldn’t have asked for a better first assignment! Variety of specialties, and a lot of room for learning! The only down side is while working 3x12s is nice they feel on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday which I was informed of after signing my contract. Overall a great place!

I was a traveler there. Lots of travelers, full-time staff can be hard to work with sometimes because they are burnt out. ER physicians will order CT contrast on everyone regardless of GFR or ALLERGY, they don't believe contrast can hurt patients so they try to get around not premedicating either, they will trump the radiologist.  I'd say that's the most difficult is dealing with physicians. Busy site but you're usually working with 1-2 other techs at least. Lots of strokes ( no perfusions) and lots trauma series on even mechanical falls.  Able to pick up OT when you want. Document as much as you can. They use Meditech EMR system. They have 3 scanners all GE. They can have a busy outpatient list to do as well. Hotels will work with travelers for discounts. Overall not the worst place and it can be fun to work with the crew!

SPD too small to accommodate the amount of surgeries they are doing. When hiring new staff they do not train them and rely too heavily on travelers to run their department. Manager wants manger title and pay but does not want manager duties.

Very little help on evening/overnights. Which is also a safety issue. They will hire someone right up under you without informing you at all. Most of the time, that includes cutting your contract short and giving you a “two week notice”. Most of the people there are great and it’s up in the mountains so it’s a beautiful area. However, I will never be able to trust this place enough to want to come back. Not after how they treated all their travelers there. Not giving us a chance to extend, even though they did the last go around. As well as, cutting all of our contracts short out of the blue. The lack of communication here is unreal.

Float alot, signed a ICU and didn't take a ICU patient till the last three weeks of my contract. Better then hca FL but still HCA

Codes/rapids every week. 1:6 ratio. Would not go back

8+:1 ratios in the ED but the in patient nurses are "capped" at 4 pts. Chronically understaffed. Holding 20+ pts a day in a 23 bed ED including 5 rooms utilized only as a fast track or rapid care area.

Medical Doctor Residents do whatever they want with very little supervision. The attitude of the hospital as a whole is an I don't care attitude. This attitude starts with the top of HCA administrators and infiltrates through out the hospital in everything that is done. Profit over people is HCA model.
