If you come from a larger hospital… RUN! I came from a 700+ bed hospital and this is 100 something beds which isn’t the worst thing but this hospital is SO dated. The charting system Paragon is ancient and the way the doctors and pharmacists work in the hospital are inefficient in my opinion. The staff are nice however there is no sense of teamwork and it seems a lot of them do not have compassion for this field. Although you can take this with a grain of salt since this is my first time traveling.

ICU - Intensive Care Unit

I used to love it there, so I returned…big mistake. We had an abundance of medics that kept the nurses afloat. They have all left and now we have a few CNAs who you cannot rely on. The staff has no accountability and the management is just as bad. They increased the ratio. The patients get sicker, the volume gets higher and the staff continues to diminish.

1:6-7 ratio in the ER with critical pts. Case management patients in the ER for MONTHS. Horrible management.

No one helps. The acuity is very high and you end up with 5 or more patients in the ER. In triage you cover a 5 bed supposed to be minor care assignment plus the whole lobby. A paramedic is supposed to help you but that didn’t help often. I only stayed because at the time the pay was great. I would never go back now. We did have a lot of traumas even though it’s not a trauma center. Shootings most weekends.

Qualifications/Skills:
