Understaffed, always missing important supplies, broken equipment doesnt get replaced, underpaid, parking is a mess. The list could go on and on. Poorly managed from the top down.

MUSC needs to pay nurses what they’re worth. High responsibility and low reimbursement. Also, parking is a nightmare… plan on adding 1 hour to your commute to get to and from the building.

This used to be a fantastic hospital. Was permanent OR RN there. Culture is terrible, negative and lots of bullying. Pay is extremely low and Charleston is getting very expensive. Had multiple meetings with management to improve situation but they literally do no care. Overworked, promise of bonuses you put in the overtime for and never see.

No teamwork. constant turn over. providers stab u in the back. Constant management changes. No growth. Only stay cause it’s a pie job while i finish school.

Clinic

In the OR, the weekend charge nurse (rob) is terrible. They tend to single out and belittle travelers. The pay is terrible. Travelers are put into whatever service, including transplants even if you have never done them. You have to park a few miles from hospital and commute on a bus every morning. I do not recommend traveling here.

Dangerous. Unsafe ratios. Management doesn’t care. Pay least in the area.

Lotta cool people, my manager was awesome, chartting takes forever, constant orders from physicians, short staffed, primarily 6 patients 1 primary, and heavy patients, a lot of q2 turns, rarely any sitters, always short on staff, tons of drains and you do everything as a nurse, draw blood, ekg, turn your patients, rarely got a lunch break here, they allow insulin drops on medsurg floor, sometimes you still have 5 other patients, the physicians are rude. The cafeteria closes at 11pm, a staff discount of like 30 cents, the pay is bad also. I hear Roper st Francis is better. Do not work at TRIDENT MEDICAL CENTER either.
