<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Oct 19, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level I trauma teaching hospital requiring adult critical care and emergency department experience.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Acute care Level I trauma teaching hospital setting</li><li>Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (1800-0630)</li><li>Every other weekend required</li><li>On-call required as needed for the department</li><li>Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities</li><li>Cerner EMR experience required</li><li>Uses airway management devices including ET tubes, tracheostomy, and oral/nasal airways</li><li>Performs suctioning, extubation, and intubation assist</li><li>Utilizes nebulizer therapy including hand held, T-piece, and trach collar methods</li><li>Administers oxygen therapy via bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, T-piece, trach collar, and venturi masks</li><li>Manages ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, alarm troubleshooting, and weaning from mechanical ventilation</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Minimum 1 year of experience required</li><li>BLS and RRT certification required</li><li>Active Illinois license required at time of application, if applicable</li><li>Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience required</li><li>Cerner charting experience required</li><li>Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred</li><li>AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI cards not accepted</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>First-time travelers accepted</li><li>Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction</li><li>Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler</li><li>RTO ideally no more than 5 days</li><li>Candidates must work 2 of the 3 major holidays</li><li>Any solid color scrubs accepted</li><li>Parking permit required, provided at no cost, completed during orientation</li></ul>
