Management relinquishes actual responsibility when it comes down to short staffing even though they have turned down multiple candidates. Would rather burden their surgical techs with training nurse externs whom have no surgical conscience, rather than train newly graduated but certified CSTs. Better yet students we won’t keep, neuro team is 2 faced, will act supportive towards you in group meetings, but will make you feel dumb for not knowing something on a personal level. Not enough general scrubs to be a trauma 1, cater to the RNs but honestly can’t say there’s much favoritism because anybody can go! But when spd, Pyxis, and housekeeping are short we have to do our jobs and theirs without incentive, no manager instead. Will freeze you over without warning, so hope you have a great support system with kids, will let neuro doctors get away with 20+ hour long cases, and urology with 5 rooms to 1 doctor. Each team lead only cares about their team not the pts, patient safety is not a priority, turn overs is, and it’s nasty. Dirty, because housekeepers are not housekeepers they sweep and mop and go home. But staff is very friendly once you pick a clique.

      <p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP position requiring high-risk labor and delivery experience and an active OH or compact RN license.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Work in a hospital LDRP setting with 10 labor, delivery, recovery rooms, 2 triage beds, 3 recovery room beds, 2 operating rooms, and 20 Mother/Baby rooms</li><li>Primarily assigned to Labor &amp; Delivery; floating to Mother/Baby unit as needed</li><li>Handles high-risk labor and delivery cases with an average of 125 deliveries per month</li><li>Philips Avalon and OBIX used for fetal monitoring; experience preferred</li><li>Night 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday required</li><li>Dysrhythmia (EKG) exam required on first day; study guide provided</li><li>24/7 in-house OB resident, anesthesia, and NICU team for high-risk deliveries</li><li>Responsible for providing comprehensive care to laboring and postpartum patients and their newborns</li><li>Participates as part of an interdisciplinary maternal and neonatal care team</li><li>Must pass a dysrhythmia exam on the first day with up to two attempts allowed</li><li>50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this distance are not eligible</li><li>Holiday coverage is required according to department schedule</li><li>Scrubbing for C-sections may be required</li><li>NCC-EFM certification is preferred for those interpreting fetal monitoring but not mandatory</li></ul>

      <ul><li>Active RN license in Ohio or compact state required</li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required</li><li>Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and NCC-EFM certification preferred</li><li>Minimum two years of recent LDRP experience required</li><li>Experience in Level 3 or Level 4 maternity care preferred</li><li>High-risk Labor &amp; Delivery experience required</li><li>Ability to scrub for C-sections preferred</li></ul>
