The Director of Surgical Services will have direct oversight of the entire surgical services line, including the Operating Room, Endoscopy, Perioperative and Postoperative Care, Ambulatory Surgery, Interventional Radiology, Diagnostic Cath Lab, and Sterile Processing. The Director of Surgical Services also has oversight of our 15-bed Inpatient Orthopedic and Spine unit. Incumbent is responsible for maintaining strong physician and administration relationships while ensuring standards of care for surgical services are in accordance with best practice. Develops, implements, and evaluates ongoing surgical services programs which ensure coordination of patient care and care delivery processes. Sustains a culture of safety, quality, service excellence, professionalism, personnel development, and team collaboration that supports the Middlesex Health Mission and the Department of Nursing vision, philosophy, and strategic plan.Minimum Qualifications:A registered nurse who is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and is currently licensed to practice in the State of Connecticut BSN and a Master’s degree in a related healthcare field are requiredMinimum of 4 years of experience in Surgical Services, preferably OR nursingMinimum of 5 years of experience in a progressive leadership roleDemonstrates strong communication, collaboration, coaching, and negotiation skillsProven success in leading culture transformation.Proven experience with success in team building, physician relations, strategic planning, and financial management.
