<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Days, 5x8hrs</li><li>Hours: 40 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Jul 27, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Home Health &amp; Hospice field position in Rapid City, SD, requiring at least 1.5 years of experience and a valid SD or Compact RN license.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Field-based position providing care in both home health and hospice settings in the Rapid City area</li><li>Dual home health and hospice role throughout the assignment</li><li>Typical caseload of 20-25 patients managed in partnership with an LPN, with the RN seeing each patient approximately once per week</li><li>Daily patient visits average 5-6 routine patients plus approximately 2 admissions per day</li><li>RN is responsible for drawing labs, providing IV/vascular access therapy, and other skilled nursing procedures in the patient's home</li><li>CNAs are provided to patients in the home</li><li>Charting via Epic Remote</li><li>8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)</li><li>Every third weekend rotation required</li><li>On-call required up to one shift per week</li><li>No floating required</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active RN license issued by the South Dakota Board of Nursing or a Compact RN license currently in hand</li><li>Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required</li><li>Current BLS certification required</li><li>Valid driver's license required, with ability to drive at night</li><li>Experience with OASIS documentation required</li><li>Skills required include hospice philosophy, infection control practices, wound VACs, wound care, PICC line dressing changes, port access, IV infusions, drain management, catheter insertion, and critical thinking</li><li>Completion of a board of nursing-approved nursing education program required</li><li>Two professional references dated within the past year required for consideration</li><li>DOB and SSN required for consideration</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>First-time travelers with home health and hospice experience will be considered</li><li>Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position</li><li>Former permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as a traveler</li><li>Orientation is conducted in the field; the office is located on-site at the hospice house</li><li>Training and support are available for the dual home health and hospice role</li><li>Holiday coverage is required and will be discussed during the interview</li><li>Scrubs in any color or business casual attire are acceptable</li><li>Free parking is available on-site</li></ul>
