<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Oct 19, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 3 Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and multiple critical care certifications.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>12-hour night shift position, 36 hours per week</li><li>Emergency Services unit at a 123-bed, Level 3 Trauma Center community hospital</li><li>21 beds, plus 8 hallway, 5 fast track, and 4-12 outpatient overflow beds</li><li>Patient population includes geriatric, abdominal pain, chest pain, stroke, psych, and respiratory cases, with 15% pediatric patients</li><li>Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, structured in pods with 8 patients shared among 3 nurses</li><li>Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system</li><li>Weekend rotation every other weekend</li><li>No on-call requirements</li><li>No floating required</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active WA or compact RN license required</li><li>Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI or MOAB, and NIHSS</li><li>Minimum 2 years of ED experience required, 5 years preferred</li><li>Skills required in TNK administration, conscious sedation, chest tube management, and central lines</li><li>Epic EMR experience required</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Support staff includes phlebotomy-certified ER techs, 24-7 receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, respiratory therapist, and hospitalist coverage</li><li>Many ER nurses are trained in ultrasound-guided IV placement; a dedicated VAT team is available Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm</li><li>Department and critical care float pool available as backup support, though no dedicated resource nurse</li><li>One week of orientation includes NEO, Epic training, skills check-offs, and 2-3 precepted shifts</li><li>MHS Tele Test must be completed prior to arrival</li><li>One holiday coverage expected per contract</li><li>Up to 7 days of RTO can be approved</li><li>Scrubs of any professional color permitted</li><li>Free parking available</li><li>Facility does not have a dedicated cardiac cath lab; cardiac catheterization patients are transferred to a nearby facility</li><li>First-time travelers are welcome to apply</li></ul>
