<h2>IMCU/PCU Registered Nurse – Local</h2>Location: New York Unit: IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit) Shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | 3x12s Schedule: Block scheduling is not guaranteed Floating: Required Scrub Color: Navy Blue Patient Population: Adults, age 18+<h3>Job Requirements</h3><ul><li>Must have 2+ years of recent IMCU/PCU experience</li><li>Travel nursing experience required and must be documented on resume</li><li>EPIC EMR experience required</li><li>Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications</li><li>Active NY RN license required</li><li>All RN licenses must be verified through Nursys</li><li>RTO must be submitted at the time of submission</li><li>Current driver's license with address matching candidate demographics</li><li>Skills checklist must match the specialty</li><li>Local candidates accepted: Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility</li></ul><h3>Unit Details</h3>The 64-bed IMCU provides intermediate-level care for adult patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing interventions. The unit includes 15 designated Neuro beds and manages a diverse patient population across multiple specialties.Common Diagnoses/Patient Conditions:<ul><li>Neurological conditions</li><li>Cardiac conditions</li><li>Trauma</li><li>COPD and other respiratory conditions</li><li>DKA</li><li>Sepsis</li><li>MI</li><li>CV step-down patients</li><li>Post-operative patients</li></ul><h3>Specialty Equipment &amp; Clinical Experience</h3>Candidates should be comfortable caring for patients requiring:<ul><li>Temporary pacemakers</li><li>Chest tubes</li><li>Arterial lines (A-lines)</li><li>BiPAP</li><li>Neptune Vapo</li><li>Mechanical ventilation</li></ul>Ventilator Experience: Chronic ventilator patients may be cared for on the unit when they are unable to wean. Respiratory Therapy will assist with ventilator management.<h3>Additional Expectations</h3>The RN must be comfortable working in a high-acuity IMCU environment, managing complex cardiac, neurological, respiratory, trauma, and post-operative patients, and floating to other appropriate units as required.
