I would recommend this hospital.  Ashley, the director, is very friendly, and this crosses over to her staff.  The ratio is 1:5.  This hospital is busy with being small.  The care is top-notch.    Rooms are well equipped.  You never have to worry about doing more than five patients, that is the cutoff.  I worked with pediatric patients for the first time here and found it amazing.  Children bring a different joy to the job when you see them getting better. When they trust you and giggle due to feeling better, it makes my day.   The staff here was friendly and helpful.   Head to Elko if you want to enjoy your job, feel appreciated, and not feel stressed!

Overall a decent place to work. As with most rural hospitals they have less equiptment and supplies, many if the providers are locums, and resources can be scarce. However, the staff and nursing group are great people. Especially those in the ED - they care for eachother like family and welcome you in. Its been a pleasure.

ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Ratios are merely suggestions. At one point, I was 4:1 in the ICU with a trainee. No support from House Supervisors. Breaks were never honored, but were automatically deducted from your daily time. Floated often, including to OB department. Staff was friendly and helpful for the most part. No allowance for any "unnatural" hair at all. You're deep in Mormon country so the culture is very conservative.
