due to the facilities obsession with HCAP scores they allow the patients to run the show.  patients are rewarded with free cafeteria food tickets. e.i. pt demands IV paine meds for acute hip pain.  this is pts 4th time claiming to be hit by a car, no police report no ambulance report and all images show no fracture or acute process.  pts BP is dropping and respirations are more and more shallow.  i adv pt to take po meds instead of IV. pt them threw bedside belongings at me then he called pt relations.  he was given to another nurse and given IV pains meds.  ridiculous nothing was done after he left me a bruise.
