Great place to work. Worked as a traveler here and they are one of the most traveler friendly facilities I’ve worked at.

The best place to work as a traveler. All are very welcoming of traveler.

Floated all over the hospital (I was Med-surg) and even floated to ICUs as a resource/helper and can say 99% were friendly and helpful too. Only floor that was not travel friendly was neuro (they’d hand pick the hardest assignments and let you drown, plus would go out of their way to be rude.) everywhere else was amazing and had amazing equipment and supplies. Parking was easy too.

Would gladly return

1:3 ratio, poor staffing, went multiple weeks without taking any ED patients only boarders, night shift charge nurse is ROUGH, department doesn’t know how to handle influx of psych patients. Got lunch breaks and a 15 most days. Manager changes your schedule without contacting you. Most weeks I was scheduled three in a row. Scheduled every holiday.

Level II trauma center. Travelers  work all weekend every weekend with no slack in schedule or collaboration with Administration. Coworkers are open and friendly. You will stay busy all shift.   Tools/supplies are everywhere but where they are needed. Computer system is beyond slow.

      <p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU position requiring strong trauma and neuro critical care skills and recent Epic experience.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Work in a Level II Trauma Center Trauma ICU with a diverse patient population including neuro and medical cases</li><li>Responsible for 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio</li><li>Shift is 3x12 hour nights, 19:00–07:30</li><li>Coverage may include weekends based on unit needs</li><li>No on-call requirements</li><li>Staff may float between CVICU, NTICU, Telemetry, Acute Care (neurology, surgical, ortho/med), Observation, and ED boarding as needed</li><li>Epic EMR charting is required</li><li>Unit uses advanced equipment such as PA catheters, Impella devices, ventilators, CRRT, IABP, and Arctic Sun cooling pads</li><li>Manage complex trauma, neuro, and medical critical care populations</li><li>Perform advanced procedures such as arterial line management, PICC line care, ventilator management, and emergency interventions</li><li>Participate in support roles for Code and Massive Transfusion Teams and assist with post-cardiac arrest cooling protocol</li><li>Use of full PPE for infection prevention and isolation precautions is expected</li><li>Assignment includes care for both non-traumatic and traumatic brain injuries as well as medical and post-procedural critical care</li><li>Flexible scheduling is expected to accommodate unit needs, including potential holiday coverage</li><li>Scrubs of any color are permitted</li><li>Candidates must have separated from previous employment at the health system for at least one year to be eligible</li></ul>
          
      <h2>Requirements</h2>
      <ul><li>Active OR RN license required</li><li>BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required and must be in hand before start</li><li>TNCC/TCAR, CCRN, CSC, SCRN, and TCRN certifications are preferred</li><li>Minimum 2 years of Trauma ICU experience preferred; will consider candidates with at least 1 year in a large facility</li><li>Recent Epic EMR experience required</li><li>Demonstrated experience in trauma, neuro, and multi-system critical care, including management of dysrhythmias, multi-organ failure, ventilators, and advanced cardiac drips</li><li>All required certifications must be active at the time of consideration</li><li>COVID vaccination required</li><li>No local candidates accepted (must reside outside 60-mile radius)</li></ul>
