Management lacks leadership and the ability to discuss issues with staff, especially traveling staff members. The department expects the therapist to be at work getting your patient assignment ready to take report 30 minutes before the shift and to be off the clock while doing so. If you don’t they will tell you about it and if you still don’t, well, I just leave it at that. If you don’t mind donating 30 minutes three times a week then this place is for you. Happy traveling.

If I could give zero stars I would. I walked in on a dead patient who had been dead for approx. 2 hours. She was stiff and cold with nearly white gums, the previous nurse reported she was alive and fine. Their staff hated travel nurses and would do anything to make your day hell. There was no help or support. Multiple patients died of preventable deaths due to nursing neglect and lack of care/rounding. Example being, a patient died while in restraints because a nurse laid the patient flat and the patient aspirated. The skill set and competency was exceptionally low. I was reprimanded for a midline dressing I wasn’t able to change, due to the fact the patient was in leather restraints and got out and attempted to attack me (no one came to help me). The unit director stated I was going to give the patient a central line infection. There were many instances where I felt my license was at risk and I begged to leave, until they let me go because I brought to the unit directors attention the incidents that had occurred and how I felt it was an unsafe environment (after being reprimanded). It was disorganized and honestly the worst place I have ever worked.

Responsibilities:Presbyterian is looking for an Charge RN for our Cardiac Step Down unit. This unit is comprised of a38-bed unit committed to the health of our patients by providing the highest level of care using a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. The unit provides patient-focused, specialized care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring for various cardiovascular disorders, including cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure. Patients recovering from myocardial infarction, coronary intervention, pacemaker implantation and electrophysiology procedures are also cared for on this unit.  Our unit also has approximately 50% regular progressive care-type patients.  Cardiac Progressive Unit provides quality care to all its patient populations through a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach.
